Mitchell K. “Mickey” Race, 63, of Fulton, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Oswego Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Oswego, a son to the late Thomas Race and Donna Jean (Wart) VanDusen. He was a graduate of APW High School. Mickey worked as a Service Technician for Mullen Industrial for over 25 years. He was an avid musician and played rhythm guitar for several bands, mainly the Tri-County Drifters and the C-Cruizers. Mickey was also a lover of classic cars and going on road trips. He was predeceased by his sister, Lori Rogers.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, JoAnn (Belson) Race; four children, Michael Bower, Erica (Jason) Purdy, Sandy (Steve) Kern and Justina (Emilio Garcia) Race; seven grandchildren, Shelby, Marissa, Cadence, Rebecca, Jason Jr., Brian, and Aiden; siblings, Tom (Kim) Race and Jerry Race and several nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours or services. The family will be having a Celebration of Life in the spring. Foster Funeral Home has care of arrangements.
