David F. Loveland, Sr.

David "Dave" Francis Loveland Sr, age 74, of Oswego passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at his home.  Dave was born in Auburn, NY to the late Whitman and Muriel (MacDavit) Loveland Jr.  He was also predeceased by his sister, Deborah Millard.

Dave is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Kathy (Casler) Loveland; his son and best friend, David (Donna) Loveland Jr., and two granddaughters that owned his heart, Kelly Nicole and Jessica Rachel; sister, Diane (Tom) Fitzsimmons; brothers, Douglas (Ruth) of Florida and Duane of Elbridge, NY.  He is also survived by his extended family, Carol Mitchell of Annapolis, MD; Lois and Al Fay of Hernando, FL; Darlene Campbell of Indianapolis, IN; Laurie and Charles Van Horn of Red Creek, NY; Melinda and Bill Forsythe of Martville, NY and Hugh and Darlene Casler of Red Creek, NY.  Dave had numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.  Dave never used the word “in-laws”, everyone was family to him.

Dave was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.  Dave worked all of his career in the construction and building field.  He loved working and creating things. Dave built beautiful furniture and made custom woodwork.  He had endless talents and could make most anything.  He was always happy to teach anyone who wanted to learn his skills.  Dave’s happiest times were 4-wheeling and snowmobiling with his family.  Anyone who needed help knew Dave would be the first to show up with anything they needed.
