Obituary of William M. Dann May 7, 2015 William M. Dann, 84, of Syracuse, formerly of Fulton, died May 7, 2015 at James Square Health and Rehabilitation Center in Syracuse. Born in Oswego, William lived in Fulton most of his life, graduating from St. Mary’s and Fulton High School in 1949. He was employed with Sealright Inc. as a Foreman in the Cap and Can Department for 20 years and retired after 21 years of service from North Carolina State Ports Police as a Master Officer. Mr. Dann was a past member of the Fulton V.F.W. 569 and Oswego Moose 742. He was also a life member of the V.F.W. Post 2375 in Wilmington, NC; American Legion 400 in Orlando, FL and the North Carolina Law Enforcement Officer Association (NCLEOA). Bill served during the Korean War as a Staff Sargent in the United States Air Force with 16 months of service overseas. After military service, he organized and played in several sports leagues in Upstate NY that included basketball and fast and slow pitch. He also won several handgun and shotgun awards while in service with his NC State Police Division. Bill was predeceased by his wife, Marilyn H. Dann in 2011; mother, Alice; brother, Thomas and sister, Mary Jane. Surviving are his daughters, Alice (Paul) Burns of Central Square, Joyce (John) Rao of Baldwinsville and Brenda Holt of Tulsa, OK; stepdaughter, Vickie Cole of Fulton; stepson, Mark Graziano of Fulton; brother, Francis Dann; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 15 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, corner of Buffalo and South Third Streets, Fulton. A calling hour will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, May 15 at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton. Burial with military honors will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Friends of Oswego County Hospice, P.O Box 102, Oswego, NY 13126.
