William H. Battles

Obituary of William H. Battles January 12, 2016 William H. Battles, 81, of Volney passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was born on December 2, 1934 in Oswego. Bill was a stone mason for many years. He loved to fish and have a cold beer. Bill was a veteran of the Air Force during the Korean War. He was predeceased by parents; his wife, Dorothy Battles and step-son, Robert Walpole, II. He is survived by two children, William Battles, Jr. and Ralph Battles; six grandchildren, Kara O’Neil, George O’Neil, Billy Jo Battles, David Battles, Audry Battles and Joe Battles; many great-grandchildren; two step-children, George (Casey) Walpole and Shari (Roger) Wideman; one sister, Joan Battles as well as many nieces and nephews. Burial will be in the spring with Military Honors. For those wishing memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
