Theresa M. Disalvo

Theresa M. DiSalvo, 97, of Phoenix, NY passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 21, 2022. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph DiSalvo, who died October 4, 2008; brother, John Lizzio, who died in 1995 and son-in-law, Douglas Shultz.

Theresa was born in Canastota on May 6, 1925, to the late Nunzio and Rosario (Caltabiano) Lizzio.  Theresa grew up in Canastota and lived most of her life in Phoenix.  She had a passion for baking and enjoyed baking breads, especially Italian bread loaves. Theresa wore many hats on the family farm. She was Joseph’s right-hand helper all the way, running errands for parts and taking all the business calls. She was the farm and payroll administrator, bookkeeper and had lunches made every day for the family working on the farm. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and homemaker.

Theresa is survived by two daughters, Sarah Shultz of Altamont and Jacqueline (Michael) Vogt of Hammondsport; two sons, Richard (Melody) DiSalvo and Joseph (Phyllis) DiSalvo both of Phoenix; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; her sister, Frances Burke; several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Oswego County SPCA, P.O. Box 442, Fulton, NY 13069.

Funeral services are private. Entombment will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery Mausoleum in Oswego. To leave a special message for the family, please sign the guestbook.
