Obituary of Suzanne F. McGivney June 12, 2016 Suzanne Fuller McGivney, 85, of Fulton passed away on Sunday, June 12 at her home with her sons by her side. Born in Fulton where she has resided most of her life. She graduated from Fulton High School, attended Michigan State University and graduated with honors from SUNY Oswego. Most of her teaching years were spent in Fulton retiring in 1986. She was a past member of the DAR, the 1889 Fulton Shakespeare Society and A. L. Lee Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Suzanne was a current member of the Fulton Public Library, the Fulton Women’s Club and its Marathon Bridge Group, Friends of History in Fulton and Reader’s on the River Group. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, R. Bruce McGivney in 1999 and granddaughter, Meghan McGivney in 2015. She will be greatly missed and forever loved by her two sons, Robert Bruce (Sharon) McGivney of Henderson Harbor and John K. McGivney of Fulton; six grandchildren, Erin (Bryant) McGivney-Looper of Atlanta, GA, Michael McGivney of Henderson Harbor, James McGivney of Fulton, John D. McGivney of Syracuse, Krista McGivney of Los Angeles, CA and Mary McGivney of Los Angeles, CA; two great-granddaughters, Reese and Sloane Looper of Atlanta, GA; one sister, Faith Fuller Morin of Fulton as well as several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 2 1 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton. Burial will be in Mt. Adnah Cemetery, Fulton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be to the Fulton Public Library, Friends of the Library, 160 South First Street, Fulton, New York 13069 in Suzanne’s memory.
