Obituary of Ronald F. James September 20, 2016 Ronald F. James, 73, of Hannibal, passed away on Tuesday, September 20 at Oswego Hospital. A life resident of the Granby-Hannibal area, he retired from Container Corporation of America after 20 years and the Hannibal School District as a custodian after 18 years. Ron co-owned and operated Enchanted Acres Flower Farm with his wife, Donna, in Hannibal where he had hybridized Japanese Iris on the world market and was known for his garden railroad. Ron was a 48 year member and past master of Hannibal Masonic Lodge 550, an associated member of Lake City Lodge 127, Royal Arch Masons, Cryptic Masons, Knights Templar and Media Shriners. He was a former member of the Scottish Rite, Watertown Court 142 Royal Order of Jesters and had served as a Grand Lodge Director of Ceremonies. Ron served in the U.S. Navy from 1962-1967 and was a member of Prior Stock American Legion Post 1550 in Hannibal. He was a former fireman and fire commissioner for the town of Granby. Ron was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Clair Shoen James and two grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Donna James of Hannibal; sons, Kevin (Laila) James of Way Cross, GA, Scott (Linda) James of Hannibal and Brian (Leane) Humphreys of Alexandria, VA; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
