Obituary of Ronald R. Bivens February 7, 2014 Ronald R. Bivens, 71, of Hannibal, passed away surrounded by his loving family at his home on Friday, February 7. A native of Oswego, he had resided in Hannibal for the past 22 years. Ron was a carpenter and member of Carpenter’s Local 747 in Oswego. He worked for Patrick Brothers and on various construction projects including Nine Mile Point Nuclear Stations and the Oswego Steam Station. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed playing cards and going to the casino in his later years. Ron loved children, especially his grandchildren, nature and camping. He was predeceased by his daughter, Cheri Jean Bivens in 1965 and by his canine companion, Jackie, the love of his life. Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Beth Sidman Bivens of Hannibal; two sons, Ronald Bivens of Fulton and Timothy (Susan) Bivens of Camillus; a sister, Larue Ure of Oswego; four grandchildren, Brittany and Jessica of Fulton and Jared and Kaitlin of Camillus and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, February 12 at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga Street in Hannibal with services to follow at 6 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hannibal United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 89, Hannibal, NY 13074 or to Friends of Oswego County Hospice, P.O. Box 102, Oswego, NY 13126-0102. The family wishes to thank Dr. Corliss Varnum and his staff and Upstate Clinical Research Department for their wonderful care.
