Robert J. Hensel

Robert J. Hensel, 76, of Oswego, NY, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at the VA hospital after a long illness. Born in Oswego, he was a son to the late Robert and June (Daly) Hensel. Bob served in the US Navy then worked as the Security Supervisor for Alcan Aluminum for over 20 years. He enjoyed gardening and collecting fast food toys and Hot Wheels. Bob was incredibly generous and donated over 2500 toys to the Shriner’s hospital in Boston and the Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital. He was very kind and family oriented. Bob was predeceased by his twin sister, Bonnie Sawa and his son, Robert M. Hensel.

Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Patty (Ritter) Hensel, two children, Patrick Halstead and Sherri Giddings; and two grandchildren, Ryan and Sara Giddings.

In respect to Bob’s wishes, services were private. Foster Funeral Home has care of arrangements.
