Robert H. Cramer, 87, of Fulton, formerly of Marcellus, passed away at home with his loving wife by his side. Born in Youngstown, OH, he grew up living all over the Southwestern United States, as his father’s career required traveling, with the family settling in Niagara Falls, NY. Robert graduated from Niagara Falls Central High School, then served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1959 (serving in the Naval Reserve until 1969) as a corpsman which would lead him into his future career in respiratory therapy. Throughout his career as a pioneering registered respiratory therapist, he worked for Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital, St. Camillus, and finally A. Lee Memorial Hospital until his retirement in 1994.
Robert enjoyed leathercraft, which included making belts, wallets and travel bags. He also enjoyed living along the Oswego River, where he built his retirement home so he could enjoy watching nature, fishing and boating.
He was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Dorothy Cramer, and his son, Duane Douglas Cramer in April 2023.
Robert will be greatly missed by his wife of almost 61 years, Diane Cramer; children, Eric (Lisa) Cramer and Tiffinay (Michael) Olday; grandchildren, Kari (Mark) Hawes, Julia Cramer (Ron Seymour), Chase Cramer, Melissa (John) Miller, Bryan Olday, and Alex Cramer, as well as six great-grandchildren.
