Rita M. Taber

Rita M. Taber, 87 of Oswego, NY passed away peacefully on December 23, 2023. She was born on September 13, 1936, in Oswego, NY, to the late Charles and Marietta Taber.

Rita was a loving mother of four children and took great pride in her role as an independent caregiver for her beloved pets. She was known for her nurturing and caring nature, always putting her family first.

She is survived by her sisters, Ellen Kennedy and Marilyn Torbitt; brothers, Charles (Beverly) Taber, Edwin (Terese) Taber, and James (Jane) Enos; as well as her children, Robert (Kelly) Noel, Cheri (Dave) Hitchcock, Laurie (Brad) Distin and Kevin (Sharon) Noel; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Rita was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dominic.

Rita attended Oswego High School before embarking on a career with NYS Insurance Fund. She dedicated herself to her work and made a lasting impact in her field. She worshipped at Oswego Alliance Church, finding solace and community within her faith. In her free time, Rita enjoyed caring for her home, pets, and maintaining communication with her children. She found joy in these simple pleasures and cherished the moments spent with her loved ones.

As per Rita’s wishes there will be no funeral services. A private ceremony will be held to honor her life and legacy at a later date.
