Richard T. Hale

On Feb. 22, 2025, Richard T. Hale, age 76, was forwarded from this life to the next. Born in Kansas City, MO, he was a happy transplant to San Diego, CA. There, he attended SDSU, where he ultimately earned a bachelor’s degree in history, and two master’s degrees in history and sociology.

A shared love of genealogy led to Richard and his life partner Jo Ann Butler meeting in Salt Lake City; a shared passion for travel and exploring the natural world possessed them for nearly four decades. He eventually settled in Fulton with Jo Ann and helped care for her mother. Hopefully, Richard is exploring the afterlife with departed friends and has already found the perfect campsite where he and Jo Ann will meet again.
