Obituary of Raymond J. Gardner September 27, 2016 Raymond J. Gardner, 72, of Hannibal, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Hospital after a courageous battle with a brief illness. He was born on September 11, 1944, in Dudley, MA, a son to the late Edward and Mildred Benoit Gardner. Ray was raised in Springfield, MA and then moved to New York in the 1970’s. He loving fishing, bowling playing Scrabble and spending time with his family. Ray was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and NASCAR, often watching it with his wife and grandson. He was a member of the Port City Bassmasters as well as maintaining their website for several years. He was predeceased by two brothers, Roy and Harold Gardner. He will be greatly missed and forever loved by his wife of 49 years, Anne Gardner; two daughters, Kerry Savoy of Massachusetts and Janine Gardner of Florida; best friend and grandson, David Gardner of Oswego; great-grandson, Joseph Raymond Gardner; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; eight siblings, Edward Gardner, Jr. of Texas, Melvin Gardner of New Mexico, Jane Pistey of Massachusetts, Kenneth Gardner of Arizona, Maureen Nadeau of Massachusetts, Randolph Gardner of Massachusetts, Timothy Gardner of Connecticut and Shirley Cote of Connecticut as well as several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours or services.
