Mary R. Storr

Mary R. Storr, 85, of Hannibal, NY, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Sunnyside Care Center in Manlius. Born in Oswego, one of eight children to the late James and Anna (Smart) VanHorn. Mary drove school bus for Hannibal Central Schools then worked in housekeeping at Michaud Nursing Home, retiring after many years. She collected angels, liked to eat out with friends, and enjoyed camping and going on road trips. Mary was predeceased by her husband, William; daughter, Ann Lambert-Nelson; siblings, James, Beatrice, and Gwendolyn; and her companion, George Engle.

Surviving are her daughter, Rose (Douglas) Pitcher; granddaughter, Heather (Michael Simmons) Ladd; great-granddaughter, Kailey Cappelletti; siblings, Sam (Pat) VanHorn, Charles VanHorn, Robert VanHorn, and Jean Martin; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 3rd at Hannibal Village Cemetery. For those wishing, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, https://www.heart.org/ in Mary’s memory. Foster Funeral Home has care of arrangements.
