Obituary of Mary B. Phares June 28, 2014 Mary B. Phares, of Fulton, died at her home on Saturday, June 28 of natural causes. She and her twin sister, Ann, were born in Utica on June 16, 1918, the daughters of the late Graham and Carrie Fuller Bushell, and moved to Fulton when they were two years old where each was a lifelong resident. Mary is survived by her son, David Phares of Sharon, MA and grand-daughters, Erin Phares of East Boston, MA and Maura Phares of Mansfield, MA, a niece, Sharon Irwin of Martville, a grandniece, Cheryl Horning and grandnephew, Richard Burdick. She was predeceased by her husband, Homer Phares, in 1974 and by her twin sister, Ann Foster, in 2012. Mary was a graduate of Fulton High School and became a registered nurse at Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse at A. L. Lee Memorial Hospital in Fulton and at Nestle Company in Fulton. Mary can trace her ancestry on her mother’s, Fuller, side of the family to the Pilgrims. She was an active member of the Volney and Granby Senior Citizens and Fulton Women’s Club. Calling hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 2 at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton. Services will be held 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 3 at the First United Church of Fulton, 33 South Third Street, Fulton with burial at Mt. Adnah Cemetery in Fulton. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the First United Church of Fulton.
