Obituary of Martin C. Growe April 23, 2016 Martin C. Growe, 62, of Volney-Minetto, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at The Manor at Seneca Hill in Oswego after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. He was born in Fulton on November 7, 1953 to the late Joseph and Florence Gardner Growe. Marty was a retired painter and dry waller with Painters Local 38, Syracuse. He had worked on many projects in Oswego including the nuclear plants, schools and city hall. Marty also worked at Columbia Mills as well as dry walling with Bob and Karl Loughrey and Tom Krupa. Marty was a music enthusiast who enjoyed playing drums and playing pool in his younger years. He was predeceased by his half-sister, Edith Kline. Marty is survived by his siblings, Virginia Messerschmidt and Ed Growe both of Fulton; nephew, Joseph Messerschmidt of East Syracuse; beloved former wife and care giver, Kim Rossiter of Volney-Minetto with whom he continued to share their love and their lives remained intertwined until the end; and many friends that he was blessed with throughout his life. Calling hours are 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday, April 28 at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton with a 12 p.m. service to follow. Burial will be at Minetto Union Cemetery, State Route 48, Minetto. The family would like to invite friends and family to join them after the burial for a Celebration of Life at the Minetto Senior Housing, Community Room, 12 Schuyler Street (off State Route 48) in Minetto.
