Linda Benway

Linda Benway of Fulton passed away January 28th, 2025, at Crouse Hospital, following a brief illness. She was born and lived her life in Fulton, the oldest daughter to the late Raymond and Ruth Benway.

Linda retired from A. L. Lee Memorial Hospital after 32 years of employment. In the 60’s, she began working at a young age with her sisters and family at MilRay Speedway at Benway Stadium, that was founded, built and operated by her father Raymond and his brother Millard.

She contributed her time and services to the local hospital, church and Meals on Wheels. She was passionate about rescuing and caring for cats, an avid card player, reading, music from her album collection, and enjoyed trips to the casino.

She’s survived by her sisters, Cathy (Terry) Alford, and Karen (Phil) MacEwen; nephew Chris MacEwen, and nieces Katie Maitland, Amber Augliano, Corinne Savory, and Julia Alford, and many great nieces and nephews.

A spring burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton. Foster Funeral Home has care of arrangements.
