Lester "Les" E. Beck

Lester “Les” E. Beck, age 78 of Fulton, NY passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 28, 2024, with his family by his side. Les was predeceased by his parents, Edwin and Christine Beck; siblings, Phyllis Ehrmann, Frances Bateman, Corrine Wilcox, Harvey Beck, Milton Beck and an infant brother Raymond.

Les leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving wife of 57 years, Belva Beck; daughter, Michele Spath; siblings, Wilma Ware and Kathy (Jim) Rhodes; several nieces, nephews and loving friends.

Les was born in Temvik, ND to his late parents, Edwin and Christine. He graduated from Linton High School in North Dakota after which his family relocated to Fulton, NY in 1965. He worked with his brothers-in-law for many years at Wilcox and Bateman Construction where he learned his craft of carpentry building homes. Les married his high school sweetheart in 1966 and had their daughter Michele in 1968. He went on to build his career working with several other local construction companies where he retired as a manager with RLS Structures after many years of service. He enjoyed woodworking in his spare time, especially building bird houses and also helping the Bowens Corners United Methodist Church with many projects. He was a faithful member of the church and served as the head of trustees. He also enjoyed going to the casino, mowing lawns and was an avid fan of Yankee Baseball. He was a devoted, caring and loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend who will be sorely missed by all who loved and knew him.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Les’ name may be made to Bowens Corners United Methodist Church, 758 State Rte. 176, Fulton, NY.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2024, from 2pm to 4pm at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton. A funeral service celebrating Les’ life will be held on Monday, August 5, 2024, at the funeral home at 11am with a burial to follow in Jacksonville Cemetery, Fulton.
