Obituary of Leslie A. Rowlee Fulton native, Mr. Leslie Aaron (Les) Rowlee, 68, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday morning, August 25th, 2020, after two weeks in Hospice care in Lexington, SC. Calling hours will be held at Foster Funeral Home on Sunday October 4, 2020 from 11 AM to 1 PM, 910 Fay Street, Fulton, NY followed by a memorial service with Reverend Shawn Porter officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Adnah Cemetery. Les began his career in the printing and flexible packaging industry in 1971 at Morrill Press, Fulton, advancing to the position of Director of Engineering in June of 1989. For seven of his 26 years in Fulton, Les was the Project Manager for the construction of the Morrill Press Plant in Morristown, Tenn. In 1996, Les transferred to the International Headquarters of Sonoco, Hartsville, SC as Director of Engineering, Flexible Packaging Division. In this role he traveled both nationally and internationally earning status as a million-mile flier. He retired in 2007, allowing him to renew his love of the outdoors which included hunting, fishing and trapping. Les also enjoyed working with plants which included everything from carnivorous bog gardens, Bonsai, and ferns to his many varieties of palms. Les also enjoyed training and running his beloved Labs in field trials. Friends will always remember Les for his gregarious personality and keen sense of humor. After Les rededicated his life to Christ he became a member of the Florence Baptist Temple in SC where he was also recently baptized. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, EK and Gertrude Candee Rowlee, and his parents, Clyde and Dawn Rodgers Rowlee. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Renee Salsbery Rowlee; his son Charles and wife Kathryn; two grandchildren: Leah and CJ of Fulton, NY; daughter Rochelle and husband Micah Kuhar of Rensselaerville, NY; his brother: Larry and wife Sue Rowlee; nephews: Ted and wife Kim; Taber and wife Melissa and their children, all of Fulton; as well as many other extended family members.
