Obituary of Lawrence Alfred Wilson August 28, 2011 Lawrence Alfred Wilson, 87 of Fulton and formerly of Baldwinsville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday. He retired from Alltel Telephone Co. in Fulton after 36 years. Larry was a friend to all who knew him and always had a friendly smile and wave for everyone. For 15 years he was a Boy Scout Master of Troop 57 in Fulton. He was a kind and generous man known to all the scouts as “Good Ole Mr. Wilson”. Growing up he played football at Baldwinsville Academy, where he got the nickname “Marky”, since he was the one who would mark the lines on the football field. Larry was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army during World War II and served as an Oswego County Legislator from 1980-1987. He loved to camp and fish and enjoyed Friday night fish fries with his family. Larry is survived by, the love of his life, Marian Louise Wilson who has enjoyed 66 wonderful years together; their children, Lawrence Wilson, Jr. & Carolyn Merkel of N. Haledon, NJ, Frederick & Ann Wilson of Syracuse, Bruce & Heather Wilson of Bowling Brook, IL, Kathleen & Gary James of West Windsor, David & Sue Wilson of Hannibal, Marian & Jim Haven of Pennellville, Thomas & Darlene Wilson of Oswego, Mark & Cathy Wilson of Cicero and Robert & Alisia Wilson of Phoenix; brother, Glenn Wilson of N. Syracuse; sister, Grace Johnson of Baldwinsville and sister-in-law, Margaret Berger of Albany, OR; 23 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Scott Wilson. Services will be held 6 p.m. Wednesday with calling hours from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton.
