Obituary of Kenneth R. Forbes July 2, 2016 Kenneth R. Forbes, 68, of Fulton, passed away on Saturday, July 2 at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse after a sudden illness. Born in Oswego, he lived in the Scriba-Fulton area most of his life. Ken had worked at Nestle Company for years and as a taxi driver in the local area. He was a member of Believer’s Chapel in Fulton. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1968-1977 attaining the rank of sergeant and served in Vietnam from 1969-1970 during the War. Ken was predeceased by his parents, Lester and Alice Forbes and siblings, Gary Forbes, Loraine Torbitt, Irene Gilligan and Shirley Purvis. Surviving are his sons, Sean (Angela) Forbes at Aviano Air Base in Italy and Ryan (Cristel) Forbes of Holly Springs, NC; grandchildren, Jacob, Maria and Brandon Forbes; siblings, James (Lucinda) Forbes, Ralph (Patricia) Forbes, Ellen (Rudy) Valdez, Allan (Pamela) Forbes, Katherine Martell, John Smouten, John (Sue) Williams, Anna (Jerry) Pearsall, Bonnie (Thomas) Edwards and Leslie (Daniel) Hartel and many nieces and nephews. Services are 10 a.m. Thursday, July 7 at Believers’ Chapel Fulton, 614 South Fourth Street, Fulton with Pastor Rick Rohde officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Peck Cemetery, County Route 4, Scriba. There will be no calling hours.
