Joshua J. Skinner

December 30, 1978 — September 28, 2024

Joshua J. Skinner, 45, of Sterling, NY passed away suddenly from complications related to natural causes on September 28, 2024.

He is greatly missed by his parents Robert "Bob" and Carrie Skinner; his three children Nathaniel “Nate” Skinner, Alissa Skinner, and Grady Skinner, wife Nicole "Nikki" Navratil, mother of his youngest son Grady; his former wife Robin Chillson and mother of his oldest two children Nate and Alissa; his sisters Fauna Skinner, and Miriam (Scott) Fernaays; his brother Cody Keller; his nieces and nephews Sienna (Zachary Ferguson) Fernaays, Spencer Fernaays, Sophia Skinner, and Jack Skinner; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and very special friends.

Josh was known for his constant wit and brilliant sense of humor. He could light up a room and bring a smile to everyone he spoke to. He was passionate about bicycles, classic cars, and snowmobiling. His favorite hobby of all was working on his 1978 Ford Pinto wagon and taking it to the drag races with his son Nate and father Bob. Josh loved spending time with his three children, family vacations on the beach, having a beer with his friends, and spending time in the garage. Since February of 2023, he was the bicycle mechanic at Murdock’s Bicycles & Sports in Oswego, NY with Greg Mills who he didn't consider a boss, but a great friend. During that time, he charmed customers and shared his enthusiasm for bicycles.

Friends and family are invited to join in remembering Josh on Thursday October 3rd for an open house from 3-6 at the Stick and Rudder Pub, one of his favorite places, located at 571 Main St. Fair Haven, NY 13064.

Those who wish to make a donation in Josh's memory can do so through Murdock’s Bicycles & Sports, 177 W 1st St, Oswego, NY 13126, (315) 342-6848, Venmo @Gregory-Mills-66. Please note the “Josh Skinner Memorial Fund” in the memo or notes on your donation. These donations will be used to supply bicycles and support to local children in need, as this was something Josh was very passionate about. Foster Funeral Home has care of arrangements.
