John R. Whitted

John R. Whitted, 94, of Fulton, passed away January 5, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse.  He was a U.S. Army veteran, who proudly served his country during the Korean War.  After his return from service, John worked as a diesel mechanic, retiring in 1990 from Northern Ready Mix.

He was predeceased by his parents, Adolph and Gladys Whitted and sons, Joseph A. Whitted and John A. Whitted.

John will be greatly missed by his wife, Catherine Whitted, of 69 years.  His is also survived by a daughter, Margaret (Thomas) Alsworth; grandsons, Shane Alsworth and Todd (Crystal) Alsworth; great-grandson, Alexander Alsworth; brothers, Carl Whitted and Spencer (Ann) Whitted and sister, Madeline (Daniel) Hopkins.

A graveside service with military honors will be held Friday, May 11, 2023 at 11:00 am at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton.
