Joan M. French

Joan M. French of Fulton, New York passed away after a brief illness on Sunday, December 25, 2022, at 90 years young.

Joan was born on February 15, 1932, to Charles and Ruth Dishaw. She graduated from Fulton High in 1950 and entered the workforce right away. A devoted employee, Joan worked for the Nestle Company for 42 years as a machine operator. She proudly displayed her Nestle clock in her home; a badge of honor given to her by the company for her retirement.

She found many friends in her Granby Senior Citizens Group and delighted in her meetings and outings with them.  She loved to shop, play bingo and spend time with her family. In her later years, her very best friend, Becky Bremer, visited with her daily and brought so much joy to Joan’s life. Becky was not only special to Joan, but to Joan’s family as well.

Joan was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Earl French. Surviving her are her son, Michael (Ellen) French of Fulton; two daughters, Susan Richardson of Oswego and Sandra (Richard) Farrands of Fulton; a brother, Larry (Liz) Dishaw, Sr. of Mexico; 14 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Private services were held on December 28th at Foster Funeral Home in Fulton, New York. Reverend Jeffrey Hodge officiated. Joan will be laid to rest in the Spring at Mount Adnah Cemetery with her beloved husband, Earl.
