Obituary of Jane Farfaglia February 15, 2015 Jane Farfaglia, 89, of Fulton, passed away Sunday at St. Luke Health Services in Oswego after a brief illness. A native of Oswego, she was born on January 10, 1926, the daughter of Concetta and Joseph Solazzo who raised 13 children. Jane married Carmelo Farfaglia at St. Joseph’s Church in Oswego on September 21, 1946. She worked at Sealright Corporation, now Hutamaki Americas, in production making ice cream containers and in her last years there as an electrician retiring in 1991. She was a member of the International Paperworkers Union. Jane was a communicant of the Church of the Immaculate Conception, now Holy Trinity Church, in Fulton and had attended several Catholic churches in Oswego with her family members. Her interests were first and foremost her family and she enjoyed cooking and baking and was well known for her famous Italian cookies. Jane also enjoyed traveling and playing slot machines. She was a loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother. Jane was predeceased by her husband, Carmelo and brothers, John, Tony, Dominick, Cussie and Joseph Solazzo and sisters, Mary Walsh, Concetta Pelky, Rose Solazzo and Augustina Bendzunas. Surviving are her children, Richard (Jackie) Farfaglia of Fulton, Robert Farfaglia of Hammond, Roberta (Gordon) Smith of Fulton, Constance (Jerry) Alpeter of Fulton, Margaret (Donald) Nelson of Warsaw, KY; 11 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; siblings, Fran Solazzo, Michael Solazzo and Anna Fitzsimmons; many nieces and nephews and extended family. Calling hours are from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, February 19 at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, February 20 at Holy Trinity Church, corner of South Third and Buffalo Streets in Fulton. A burial service will be held in the spring at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton.
