James P. Read, Jr.

James “Jim” P. Read, Jr. age 69 of Fulton, NY passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at home with his loving wife by his side. Jim was predeceased by his father, James P. Read, Sr.; brother, Douglas Read in 2019; and his sister, Lisa Munger in 1985.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Cheryl; mother, Marilyn Munger; children, Jamie (Brett) Wylie, Andrew (Krystal) Read; three grandchildren; brother, Lawrence (Brenda) Munger; several nieces and friends.

Jim was born in 1955 in San Diego, CA and moved with his mother back to the Fulton area in 1963. He attended and graduated G. Ray Bodley in 1973. Jim joined the US Airforce in October of 1973 and was stationed in Norton AFB, San Bernadino, CA. He was a sheet metal mechanic during his time of service and was honorably discharged in 1977. Jim went on to work at Pathfinder in Fulton, then Reynolds Tech in E. Syracuse and lastly Frigo Design Inc. where he served as a production manager then retiring after 20 years of service. He enjoyed his retirement by tending to his property, spending his time with family and his dogs. Jim was a dedicated husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend who will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.

A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family where Jim will be laid to rest in Mt. Adnah Cemetery.
