James L. Guilfoyle

December 7, 1939 — January 1, 2023

James “Jim” L. Guilfoyle, age 83 passed away peacefully early Sunday morning in his sleep on January 1st, 2023, at Seneca Hill Manor in Oswego. Jim was born on December 7 th , 1939, to Harold and Evelyn Guilfoyle, born and raised in Fulton, NY.

Jim lived in Fulton all his life and was a valued resident of the community. As a veteran of the United States Air Force, he had many professions in his time. He was most proud of his furniture store Guilfoyle Furniture, as well as his window washing business Pane in the Glass. He also worked for the City of Fulton and General Electric. Jim followed in his father’s footsteps with a strong interest in politics. His father, Harold Guilfoyle was an alderman in the city of Fulton for 26 years. Jim was also a member of the American Legion and ‘Friends of History.’ He will be remembered as a charming man with great style, humor and a charismatic personality.

Jim is survived by his sister Sharon Hawkes; son, Sean Harrington; nephew, Jerrod Hawkes; grandsons, Jake Harrington and Max Harrington; an expectant great granddaughter in the spring, and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends all over the country.

He was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Evelyn; sister, Elanor; and brother, William.
