Obituary of Hon. Donald K. Comstock June 6, 2016 The Honorable Donald K. Comstock, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2016 at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse. Don was born in Fulton, NY in 1924; the son of Ray and Goldie (Walton) Comstock. He graduated from Fulton High School in 1942, enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1942, and served until 1945; receiving a Purple Heart Medal. Upon discharge, he attended Syracuse University for 3 years before going on to Albany Law School, where he graduated in 1952. He married Harriet Grant in 1952 and began his career with the Oswego County Welfare Department. Don later opened a private law practice, became Fulton City Court Judge, and in 1969 was the first elected Oswego County Family Court Judge; retiring in 1988. Don is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Harriet, their two daughters, Lisa (John) Minutoli and Carol (Jim Lalik), two grandchildren, Annmarie (Jimmy) Zimmerman, and Michael (Erin) Reed. He also leaves four great-grandchildren, Justin and Trevor Zimmerman and Sophia and Victoria Reed, along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Kevin in1995. Calling hours will be held Saturday, June 11, 2016 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., with a service to celebrate his life immediately following at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton, NY. Burial will be private. The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful staff at Sage Court, McHarrie Pointe for their loving care of Don, as well as the staff at Crouse Hospital for their guidance and assistance during the two days preceding his passing. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association or McHarrie Foundation in Baldwinsville in Don’s name.
