Obituary of Hazel B. Hordge Hazel Betty (Courts) Hordge, 76, of Fulton, N.Y., transitioned from this earth to eternal glory on April 13, 2020 surrounded by her loving children and husband at St. Joseph’s Health Hospital in Syracuse, N.Y., after a brief cancer illness. Born on August 7, 1943 in Huntington, W.V., she is predeceased by her parents Melvin C. Courts and Josephine Courts and stepmother, Katie Courts. She was a member of Crossroads Tabernacle Church in Fulton, N.Y., for over 36 years. Her life of service and dedication to the Lord and her faith included serving as a Sunday School teacher, Bible Study teacher, Women’s Ministry leader, Associate Pastor and most recently Head Pastor. Her sweet, self-sacrificing spirit of love lives on in all the lives she touched. She is survived by her husband Willie Hordge of Fulton, N.Y.; daughters, Cynthia L. Rogers (Darwin Rogers) of Cheektowaga, N.Y. and Sarah E. Wall (Brandon Wall) of McDonough, N.Y.; a son, Christopher R. Hordge (Mary Hammer-Hordge) of Vancouver, Canada; a grandson, Jeremiah Christopher Hordge of Vancouver, Canada; two brothers, Melvin Courts (Penny Courts) of Spokane, Wash., and John Courts (Julia Courts) of North East, Md.; stepchildren, Lester Hordge of Newark, N.J., Willie Patrick Hordge (Judy Archie) of Fulton, N.Y., Linda Daniels (David Daniels) of Syracuse, N.Y., Veronica Hordge of Newark, N.J., Janet Hordge of Syracuse, N.Y. and Randolph Hordge of Newark, N.J. as well as many step-grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to visit Foster Funeral Home’s Facebook page 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 for a live stream service for Hazel.
