Harvey S. King, Jr.

April 9, 1945 — March 24, 2025

A much-loved husband, brother, father, and grandfather, Harvey Seneca King Jr., 79, of Fulton, NY, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025. Harvey was born on April 9,1945 in Waterloo, NY and was a 1963 graduate of Waterloo High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Ann, in 1964. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last year.

Harvey worked at the American Can Company in Geneva for 13 years before becoming a longtime resident of Fulton. His work as a Journeyman Machinist brought him to Fulton in 1977, with the opening of the Miller Brewing Company container division. He worked there until its closing in 1994, and eventually went on to retire from WestRock/Solvay Paperboard at 72. He loved his work.

Harvey had a gift for conversation—sometimes, perhaps, a little too much—but it was simply a reflection of his big heart. He would do anything for his four kids and two grandchildren. He was kind to everyone he met. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him snow blowing a neighbor's driveway in the middle of a snowstorm. He loved crossword puzzles, chocolate ice cream, scratch tickets, and tinkering around the house.

Harvey is survived by his wife Ann (Heinzman) King of Fulton; brother Lynn King of Waterloo, NY; and his children, Catherine Mitchell of Long Island, NY; Christine (Donald) Teich of Baldwinsville, NY; Gordon King of Minetto, NY; and Lori King of Boston, MA. “Papa” also leaves behind two grandchildren, William Harvey Mitchell of Seattle, WA, and Vivian Ann King of Hannibal, NY. Harvey is predeceased by his sister, Sharron Christiaens, parents Harvey S. King Sr. and Geraldine (Fridley) King, and son-in-law, James Mitchell.
