Obituary of Harold A. Carlson January 25, 2015 Harold A. Carlson, Jr., 89, of Sterling, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Oswego Hospital. He was born on September 17, 1925, in Bridgeport, CT, a son to the late Harold A. and Helen Jursik Carlson, Sr. Harold attended Colgate University at the age of 15 and then went to NY Medical College where he graduated with his Doctorate. He then practiced for 40 years as a Board Certified Radiologist, where he then retired from Oswego Hospital in 1988. Harold enjoyed golfing, skiing and fishing. Along with his parents he is predeceased by his wife, May “Bunty” Carlson in 2002 and sister, Ruth Ann Gilbert. He will be greatly missed and forever loved by his four children, Jennifer (Thomas) Torgersen of MD, Christopher Carlson of Sterling, Jane (Rob) Seaman of MA and Holly (Gary) VanRomer of FL; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Arlene Carlson of CT as well as several nieces and nephews. As Dr. Carlson’s request there will be no calling hours or services. Spring burial will be in Springbrook Cemetery, Sterling. Foster Funeral Home in Hannibal has care of arrangements.
