Gloria J. Pitcher, of Fulton, passed away unexpectedly on April 4, 2023 at her home in Volney. Born in Syracuse, she was a lifelong resident in Volney and a dedicated homemaker with her husband, children and grandchildren. Gloria was a former Assistant Dog Warden in Volney and responsibly found fur-ever homes for countless dogs. She was an avid cook, soup maker and baker.
She was predeceased by her parents, Leonard and Dorothy Duciaume of Volney.
Gloria is survived by her husband, Frederick of Volney; son, Gary Raymond, Jr. of Geneva, son, David Raymond (Janelle) of Ft. Mills, SC; daughter, Karen Raymond (Mourad BenHassen) of East Syracuse; step-daughter, Michelle Pitcher of Fulton; sister Patricia Duciaume (E. Alan Silver) of West Winfield; sister, Margaret Guyer of West Winfield; grandchildren, Nadia BenHassen of East Syracuse, Sonya Ben Hassen of East Syracuse, Mariah BenHassen of East Syracuse, Christopher Raymond of Ft. Mills, SC; step-grandchildren, Delores Bean of Fulton, Mellisa Bean of Fulton, Amber Bean of Fulton, Brandon Morrison of Fulton and many cousins and friends.
Calling hours will be Monday, April 17 from 4:00-6:00 PM, at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton, NY 13069. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 309 Buffalo Street, Fulton. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton. Details regarding a reception will be announced at the calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the ASPCA of your choice.
