Geraldine M. Falanga

Geraldine (Snyder) Weldin-Falanga, 77, of Hannibal, NY passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Hospital after a long illness. Born in Oswego, to the late George and Kathryn (Wilson) Snyder, she attended Oswego Schools. Geri was a passionate caregiver and dedicated LPN for Oswego Hospital for several years in both obstetrics and geriatrics. She was a huge Buffalo Bills fan and enjoyed cake decorating and camping. Geri was one of eleven and loved being part of a large family. Some of the fondest memories were made at family reunions. Family was her life and what truly brought her the most joy. She will always be remembered for being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and sister. Geri was predeceased by her aunt, Gladys Snyder-Rappleye; her siblings, Ann Moody, Carol Tryon, Ellen Bevacqua, Tom Snyder, Patricia Ann Snyder, Debra Baum, and Kevin Snyder.

She will be forever loved and missed by her husband of 52 years, Fran Falanga; her children, Kim (Dennis Laprade) Beginski, Shawn (Beth) Weldin, and Eric (Shelly) Weldin; her step-children, KellyAnn (Herman) Lamb, John (Joni) Falanga, and Tom Falanga; nine grandchildren, Katy, Mary, Hannah, Emily, Erica, Ryan, Abby, Christopher, and Kristan; six great-grandchildren, Wayland, Liam, Olive, Erich, Emmett, Kyleen; three siblings, Dennis Snyder, Marian Henderson, and Kathy Amedio; and many loved nieces and nephews that affectionately called her “Gigi”.

Calling hours will be from 4-6 pm on Thursday, July 11 at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga Street, Hannibal with a service to immediately follow. Burial will be in Oswego Rural Cemetery at a later date.
