George B. Mcquaid

d. July 4, 2020

Obituary of George B. McQuaid George B. McQuaid, 63, of Oswego passed away suddenly at his home July 4, 2020, after a long battle with several illnesses. Born in Camden, NJ to Kenneth McQuaid Sr. and the late Beaulah McQuaid, he moved to the Oswego area in 1971. George, who was always a hard worker, successfully worked himself from the bottom up at ALCAN, starting in 1977 and holding the position of crane operator in re-melt at his time of retirement in 2010. He loved his guitars, especially playing them with his amp turned up loud. George also enjoyed listening to music, especially the blues and rock and roll, working out, reading his bible, talking politics and outdoor activities, but above all he enjoyed spending time with his family. In addition to his father, George is survived by his sons, Justin and Zachary McQuaid; siblings, Ken (Carol) McQuaid, Jr., Lynda Parsons-Dilts, Myrtle (Timothy) Dullen and Franklin McQuaid; several nieces and nephews. A calling hour will be held Thursday, July 9 from 5:00 to 6:00 pm at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga St., Hannibal, where social distancing requirements will be observed. Donations in George’s memory may be made to the Oswego Humane Society: oswegohumane.org or the Wounded Warrior Project: woundedwarriorproject.org.
