Obituary of George and Madelon Howland George and Madelon were married over 70 years and are now together for eternity in the arms of their Lord and Savior. George and Madelon were married in 1949 where they were residents of Sterling, NY for over 60 years before moving to Oswego, NY. After George retired from Nestle after a 40-year career, both he and Madelon volunteered with MAPS RVers from 1995 – 2000 and a singing ministry to area nursing homes. Both were members of the United Methodist Church in Sterling and in their later years’ members of Word of Life Assembly of God Church in Baldwinsville serving as usher and greeter. George and Madelon were members of the Hannibal Elderberries and served as Osteoporosis trainers at the Fulton YMCA. George’s many hobbies were woodworking and singing. Madelon’s many hobbies were singing and playing her piano, her ever growing flower garden, cooking goodies for family and friends. Both enjoyed spending time with their family and spoiling their grand and great grandchildren. Most importantly George and Madelon would share the saving grace of Jesus at every opportunity they had. George is predeceased by his parents, Harold and Helen (Hammond) Howland; siblings Harry, Merle, Robert, and Ethel; son David. Madelon is predeceased by her parents, Charles and Ethel (Wells) Harris; siblings Vern, Louise, Ward, Chuck and son David. They are survived by son Daniel (Carole) of Virginia Beach, VA; daughter-in-law Lorelei (David) of Wolcott, NY; sister and sister-in-law Charlotte Porter (Harold) of Fulton, NY; grandson Matthew (Regina); granddaughters Jennifer (Leigh) Ray of North Carolina, Rachel (Will) Heil of Virginia, Jamie (Tony) Burley of Michigan; ten great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St. Fulton, NY, May 7th, 2022, at 11am. The family will receive visitors prior to the service from 10 to 11am. George and Madelon’s final resting place will be at Springbrook Cemetery, Sterling, NY. Foster Funeral Home, Fulton, NY has care of arrangements.
