Ellen L. Hoyles

Ellen L. Hoyles, age 77 of Oswego, NY passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 9, 2024.

Ellen was born in Auburn, NY on March 2, 1947, to the late Clifford Parsons (2005) and Evelyn Parsons (2021).

She had many hobbies; she loved arts and crafts, collecting cups, shopping, and she was a big fan of Elvis, mickey mouse, and unicorns. She especially enjoyed spending time with her non-biological children, Kerri (Fulton), Elisa (Baldwinsville), Sarabee (Cato), and her kitty Anne (Karrianne of Cato) but most of all she loved her cat, Smudge. Ellen had a smile that could brighten up a room on a sad day. Ellen never met a stranger as she had an uncanny ability to make friends in any situation, and an open and accepting spirit that attracted people towards her.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Thomas Hoyles (1989) and a brother Nelson Parsons (2023). Ellen is survived by her loving daughter, Esther Hoyles of Cato; Sister-in-law, Betty Parsons of Hannibal; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and sister-in-law who will be sorely missed by all who loved and knew her.

A celebration of Ellen’s life will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024, from 1pm to 4pm at the Ira Fire Station, Cato, NY. To leave a special message for the family, please sign the guestbook.
