Edward J. Percy

Edward J. Percy, 86, of Fulton, NY, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023 at home surrounded by his family.  Born in Philadelphia, NY, a son to the late Elmer and Lena (Prittie) Percy.  Ed was a general contractor for Ed’s Construction.  He was an avid golfer, hunter, fisherman, and poker player. He loved and followed sports of all kinds.  (Although you might not want to be around him if his SU basketball team was losing!)

Ed also enjoyed spending time in the kitchen, baking his famous banana bread and fruitcakes to share.  He found pleasure in sharing his home with his beloved cats, adopting many strays along the way. Ed also had a lot of fun with his hobby of collecting and selling antiques…always ready to hit the road in search of a rare find.

Above all, Ed was a family man who loved being with his grandchildren.  He spent countless hours teaching the kids how to swing a baseball bat, shoot a basketball, or make a putt.  He attended hundreds of the kids’ games over the years.  They will miss seeing their beloved Grampa cheering from the sidelines.

Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Nancy (Cardinali) Percy; seven children, Theresa Anstedt, April (Jeremy Graves) Percy, Catherine (Sandi Payne) Percy, Mark (Cara) Percy, Katie (Josh Liepke) Malesh, Marie (Frank) Casavant, and Allison (Rodney) Roberts.  He also leaves behind fourteen grandchildren:  Sarah, Christopher, Joey, Hanna, Mara, Dominique, Dion, Aiden, Sofia, Lucy, Leo, Jude, Ethan and Zachary; 2 great-grandchildren:  Audrey and Sofia; a brother, Ralph and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12 at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 13 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 309 Buffalo Street, Fulton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Paws Across Oswego County, 2035 County Route 1 Oswego, NY 13126, in Ed’s memory.
