Obituary of Edward V. Dean September 5, 2016 Edward V. Dean, 85, of Fulton, passed away on Monday, September 5 at Morningstar Residential Care Center in Oswego. A native of Fulton, he was a life resident. Ed retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Fulton as a letter carrier after 27 years and was a member of the N.A.L.C. Union and served as secretary for many years. He had previously worked at Container Corporation of America in Fulton for ten years. Ed served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War where he received four battle stars and was a member of V.F.W. Post 569 in Fulton. He had been a very active member of State Street United Methodist Church in Fulton where he served as a lay leader and trustee, and member of the church council, men’s club and various other activities. Ed was a life member of the Oswego County Ham Radio Club with call letters, WB2LBI and was a former Boy Scout Leader for Troop 13 and 713. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 55 years, Charlene Raymond Dean in 2008 and by his parents, Albert and Anna Pooler Dean. Surviving are his children, Wesley Dean, Felicia (Bill) Viscome, Darrell Dean, Cherylann Dean and Wayne Dean all of Fulton; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Gerry (Garold) Daup of Ohio and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, September 12 at Foster Funeral Home, Inc., 910 Fay Street, Fulton. Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 13 at State Street United Methodist Church, 357 State Street, Fulton, NY 13069. Burial with full military honors will be at Mt. Adnah Cemetery, East Broadway in Fulton.
