Obituary of Duane "Clem" H. Graves Duane “Clem” H. Graves, 85, of Palermo passed away May 2, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born on September 23, 1934, he was the son of the late Hattie Loomis and Harvey Graves. Clem was a life resident of Palermo. He worked for General Foods for 54 years, retiring at age 77, when the company closed. He always said he was the “Oldest Pioneer”. In his free time, he enjoyed going to the Canandaigua Pageant of Steam, Boonville logging show, car shows, camping and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Clem was a man of boundless energy, like the Energizer Bunny, and was always a hardworking man. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Janet Graves; wife, Nora and brother, Clyde Graves. He will be greatly missed by his children, Beth Hall, Brenda (John) Stelter and Brian Graves; brother, Keith Graves; sister, Bonnie Bendschneider and Dolores Meeker; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and will be missed by Aaron Smith. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Private burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Volney.
