Obituary of Dorotha A. Bennett June 1, 2014 Dorotha A. Bennett, 66, of Hannibal, died Sunday evening at home. She was born in Oswego and lived most of her life in Hannibal. Dorotha graduated from Cayuga Community College and was a homemaker. She enjoyed making crafts. Dorotha was predeceased by her father, Robert J. Smith, Sr, who died in 2010 and by a brother, Robert J. Smith, Jr in 2009. She is survived by her daughter, Doris Duval of Oswego; her son, John (Barbara Sullivan) Bennett of Oswego; her mother, Grace Smith of Fulton; her companion, William Ware of Fulton; three sisters, Joann (Mike) Mays of Kansas, Mary Jean (Larry) Swaggert of Tennessee and Hazel Shoults of Oswego; one brother, Joseph Smith of Hannibal; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and her pet dogs, Bekkin and Kiara. Calling hours are 12 to 2 p.m. Thursday, June 5, with services to follow at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga St., Hannibal. Burial will be in Fairdale Rural Cemetery, Hannibal.
