Obituary of Donald A. Phillips January 6, 2016 Donald A. Phillips, 90, of Fulton, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at St. Luke Health Services. He was a member of Carpenters Local 277 for 68 years. Donald was a World War II Veteran, fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He took great pride in the three homes he built, enjoyed gardening and loved to bake. Along with his parents he was predeceased by his wife Catherine Modie Phillips in 2006 and several siblings. Donald leaves behind two daughters, Sandy (Joe) Sluzar of West Monroe and Jeanette (Pete) McRae of Falls Church, Virginia; one granddaughter, Danielle (Dustin) Clark; two great-grandsons, Mason and Jacob; three brothers, Robert, Ted and Lawrence; two sisters, Thelma March and Betty Murphy as well as many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, January 10 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, January 11, at Holy Trinity Church, corner of Rochester and South Third Streets in Fulton. Spring burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton.
