Obituary of Donald E. Keeney Donald E. Keeney, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 11, 2021 at the age of 97. He was a life resident of the Fulton and Fair Haven areas. Don was a veteran of the US Marine Corps serving in the Pacific Theater and was involved in the first phase of the Iwo Jima landing during World War II. He was inducted into the New York State Veteran Hall of Fame and was the Oswego County Veteran of the Year. After returning from the war, he continued to serve in the community in many areas including, Trustee of the Granby School District; Justice of the Peace in the town of Granby and Mayor and Trustee of the village of Fair Haven. Don was a member of the Bowen’s Corners United Methodist Church, a brother of Hiram Masonic Lodge 136 and member of Carpenter’s Local 747. He was predeceased by his wife, Muriel; son, Donald R. Keeney and daughter, Margaret E. Mulford. Surviving are two daughters, Mary Ellen (David) Canino and Rosemary (Michael) Federici; son-in-law, John Mulford; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, October 25, 2021 at Bowen’s Corners United Methodist Church, 758 State Route 176, Fulton, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. A private burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Volney. The family would like to thank all of the caregivers for their care and support, especially Jill Roberts.
