Diane D. McFarland, 77, of Fulton, New York, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, June 4. Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Margaret (Shortslef) Hall of Sterling, New York. She was a devoted wife, mother to her three beloved children, and grandmother to her six most cherished grandchildren.
Diane was a talented gardener who loved long walks to enjoy nature with friends and family. She enjoyed spending time with her many dear friends, including their weekly coffee dates, and especially looked forward to her monthly “cousins dinners.” Diane’s friends and family will all remember her excellent cooking and family dinners.
Diane was predeceased by her beloved husband, Douglas McFarland, and her brother, James “Jim” Hall. She will be greatly missed and live forever in the hearts of her children, Marcia (Matthew) Moshier, Margie (Jamie) Diak, and Jason (Sherri) McFarland. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Meredith Moshier, Allison Moshier, Jonathan Diak, Lauren Diak, Kelsea McFarland, and McKenna McFarland. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will be from 4 - 7 pm on Friday, June 9 at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Saturday, June 10 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Phoenix, where Diane was a faithful and spiritual parishioner. A burial service will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Oswego.
