Desirah V. "Dessie" Beck

Obituary of Desirah V. Beck August 8, 2016 Desirah V. “Dessie” Beck, 69, of Hannibal passed away at home after a long illness. Dessie loved sewing, canning and flower gardening. She was a bartender at Boogs in Hannibal for over 20 years. She was a friend of Pastor Kevin Griffin of Temple Baptist Church. Desirah was predeceased by her life companion, Craig Malcott who died August 30, 2015; her parents, Wilburt and Dorothy King and four siblings. Dessie will be greatly missed by her children, Ronald Gilman and Clue Gilman; grandsons, Danial Mullins and James Gilman; three great-grandchildren; sister, Deborah MacDowell and brother, Wendy King. A calling hour will be Saturday, August 13 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon with a service to immediately follow at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga St., Hannibal. Burial will be in Sterling Center Cemetery, Sterling. Memorial contributions in Desirah’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 6390 Fly Rd., 2nd Floor, East Syracuse, NY 13057.
