With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Denise Marie (Gates) Trombly, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished member of her community, who left us on October 24, 2024, in Springfield, MA. Born on September 9, 1957, in Fulton, NY, Denise lived a life marked by generosity, kindness, and an unwavering dedication to family and friends. Denise's early life was filled with enthusiasm and community involvement, as she was an active high school cheerleader, former gaucho, and dedicated candy striper. Her compassionate nature and ability to bond with others seamlessly led her to a career that combined her love for art and helping others. She initially worked at Wright's Fabric Manufacturing, where she developed a lifelong passion for crocheting. Denise later found her true calling in healthcare, beginning her vocational journey at the Monson Developmental Center and culminating with a long and fulfilling career at Holyoke Medical Center. After over 30 years of service, she retired with the respect and admiration of her colleagues.
Denise's personality was as warm and inviting as her smile. She was known for her friendly demeanor and for her ability to make connections with anyone she met, always willing to lend a listening ear or a helping hand. Denise’s world revolved around her family, especially her cherished grandchildren, Amelia and Vivien Martin, with whom she spent countless joyful hours.
Denise is predeceased by her parents, George H. and Patricia (Whitton) Dashner, and her sister, Deborah Florczyk.
Denise leaves behind her loving daughter, Leann Martin and her husband Damien, as well as her devoted son, Thomas Trombly Jr. Her legacy is carried forward by her precious grandchildren, Amelia and Vivien Martin, who will remember her with love and gratitude for the time shared. She also leaves behind her siblings Sheila Clark, George Manchester, David Manchester, Shawn Gates, Colleen Proppe, Alicia Weems, and Michael Gates. Along with many nieces and nephews.
In honoring her life, a graveside ceremony will be held at North Volney Cemetery, November 8, 2024, at 11:00am. A celebration of life will be held in Massachusetts at the convenience of the family. Denise's family invites all who knew her to remember her life of love and service and to find comfort in the lasting impact she made on those around her.
