Colleen M. Bergman

Colleen (Smart) Bergman, born October 13, 1957, peacefully passed away on September 4th, 2023, at the age of 65. Born in Syracuse, Colleen retired from Lockheed Martin of Liverpool after 35 years. She has left an everlasting imprint on the hearts of her family and friends. Colleen was a cherished wife and a beloved mother and grandmother.

Her passion for family was evident in her love for camping. She savored every moment spent with them, creating a journal of memories in the great outdoors. One of her greatest pleasures was bringing her family together for “Sunday” dinners and embarking on day trips with her devoted husband Dan; always seeking a better spaghetti than the last. Colleen took immense joy in spoiling and watching her grandchildren excel in their various activities, providing unwavering support and encouragement every step of the way.

Colleen's creative spirit shone through her crafting and furniture-finishing projects, sewing, and macramé. She also enjoyed gambling on the horses at Vernon Downs and the occasional Tuesday night bingo. Her green thumb was evident in her passion for plants and flowers.

Colleen's strength and determination were an inspiration to all who knew her. She pulled no punches and despite challenges, she remained headstrong and unwavering; a pillar of strength for her loved ones. She had a knack for making every gathering a special occasion filled with fun and laughter.

Colleen's passing, surrounded by her family in the comfort of their home, was a testament to the love that defined her life. She leaves behind a legacy of joy, laughter, and enduring memories that will be cherished forever. She will be deeply missed and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Colleen's memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

She was predeceased by her mother, Patricia (Donald) Finch, and her father, Robert (Barb) Smart. Colleen is survived by her husband, Danny Bergman, of 41 years. Her children, John (Carrie) Butler, Crystal Bergman, Amber (Ryan) Bergman-Spataro, and Heather Bergman. Grandchildren, Morgan, Trevor, Isaiah, Adisyn, Eli, and Emery. Great grandchild, Leo. Her siblings, Gary (Sue) Smart, Bobbie Jo (Dan) Bowman, Tina Wisnowski, Robert Smart, and Stephanie Smart. Many aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
