North Volney resident, Charlotte Marie Parkhurst 83 passed away to be with her lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 09th, 2024 with her family by her side.
Charlotte was born May 07, 1941, in Albion, New York to Cecile V Trumble and Francis Tousley Trumble. She attended the One Room schoolhouse. Charlotte had five brothers, (Robert, Roger, Carl, Clifford, and Darwin) and Two sisters (Elaine and Brenda). Charlotte and her siblings grew up in foster care and orphanages. The siblings found each other after being raised separately and forged a close family bond that continued throughout their lives. She was a member of the North Volney Methodist church.
Charlotte worked at Fay’s drug store and for the New York State Agricultural Program where she worked as head Cook. Charlotte loved children and ensured that her own children were well loved and never experienced the childhood that she had. Charlotte told others that her greatest joy in life was becoming a mother and a grandmother. She loved County music and some of her favorite performers were Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, Tom T Hall, Merle Haggard, Marty Robbins, and Box Car Willy. She enjoyed traveling and her favorite trips were with her sisters in Pennsylvania and in Nashville with her husband and friends. Charlotte liked attending the BIC Bus where she met with her friends: Fern, Rosy, and Claudia for coffee and crafts. She was a Christian and ensured that all of her children grew up having faith and had a strong work ethic. Charlotte had a great sense of humor and was incredibly friendly. She was known to talk to complete strangers to make them smile and laugh.
Charlotte is survived by her four sons, daughter and their spouses: Charles A. Parkhurst and Tammy Douglas, Gary and Genevieve Parkhurst, Brian and Rebecca Parkhurst, Richard Parkhurst, daughter, Crystal Parkhurst, 13 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and her sister Brenda Richway.
She was predeceased by her husband, siblings, oldest son, James V(Moose) Parkhurst and her infant daughter, Elizabeth Parkhurst.
There are no calling hours per her request. Grave side services will be 10:00 am October 15th at N. Volney Cemetery where Charlotte will be laid to rest next to Charles Parkhurst (husband of 63 years) and son, James. To leave a special message to the family, please visit www.fosterfuneralhome.com.
