Carrie R. Butler passed from this life to the next on March 3, 2025. A native of Fulton, Mrs. Butler was a life resident. She worked as coordinator for the Historical Society of Fulton from 1989-1996, and had previously worked at ABC Preschool, Fulton from 1976-87.
Mrs. Butler was a member of the First United Church of Fulton, formerly the First Baptist Church, Fulton. She was a member of the Women’s Organization at the First United Church, and a volunteer for Literacy Volunteers of Oswego County. She also volunteered to lead Cub Scout and Girl Scout troops in the Fulton area.
Surviving Carrie are her two daughters, Margaret “Peg” Peck of Gayville, NY, and Jo Ann Butler of Fulton, and two sons; Thomas Butler of Fulton and Kenneth Butler of East Hartford, CT, seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. The last of her generation, Carrie was predeceased by her husband Thomas B. Butler of Fulton; sister Marie “Bee” DelPapa, and brothers Joseph, George, and Rev. Fred Rogers.
There will be no calling hours for Carrie, but a memorial service will be held at First United Church of Fulton on Sunday, March 23rd at 12:15 pm. It will be followed by a potluck lunch since Mom heartily enjoyed them. Interment at Mt. Adnah Cemetery, Fulton at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Church of Fulton memorial fund for Educational Loans, 33 South 3rd Street, Fulton, 13069. Foster Funeral Home has care of arrangements.
