Carol Carter

Carol Carter, 86, of Hannibal, NY, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at Morningstar Residential Care Center. Born in Phoenix, NY, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Pauline (Johnson) Brown. Carol was a graduate of Hannibal High School and worked as the secretary for Carter’s Construction. She enjoyed traveling, music, square dancing and even volunteered as the treasurer for the local square dancing group, The Cayuga Cut-Ups. She liked watching NASCAR and had attended a Daytona 500 race. Carol loved children and would always be seen holding babies.

She was predeceased by her first husband, George Pelton; second husband, Floyd Carter; and long-time companion, Gene Miles.

Surviving are her son, Brian Pelton; daughter, Sherry Pelton; four grandchildren, Alicia, Carolyn, Amanda, and Jacqueline; and eight great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be from 3-5 pm on Thursday, February 1st at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga Street, Hannibal with a service to immediately follow at 5 pm. A spring burial will be in Fairdale Rural Cemetery, Hannibal.
