Calvin G. Dorn

Calvin G. Dorn, 75, of Hannibal, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024, in the comfort of his home, after a long struggle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was born October 9, 1948.

Calvin “Cal” graduated from Leavenworth Central School, Wolcott in 1966. He graduated with a BS from SUNY Oswego in 1970, where he met his lovely bride, Kay Marie Knight. After graduation, he taught 9th grade science for 34 years at Cicero-North Syracuse.

Cal was an Eagle Scout, Assistant Scout Master for Troop #734, Central Square. He took part in Boy Scout Wood Badge Training. He was also a board member of the Oswego County Soil and Water Conservation District.

Cal was a big fan of the NY Yankees, NY Giants and The Washington Capitals. He enjoyed 50 mile hikes with the Boy Scouts, cross country skiing, hunting, camping with both the Scouts and his family, and a good beer (or 2 or 3) with his DFB buddies.

Cal is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kay; a son, Jeffry; daughter, Kathleen; grandson, Charles Bomgren; two nieces, and three nephews.

Calling hours will be from 5-8 pm on Monday, July 8th at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga Street, Hannibal, NY 13074 with a short service to immediately follow.
